Ashes to Ashes

Brief: Develop an art direction and brochure for Ashes to Ashes, a sound piece exploring the transition from life to death through sonification, medical research, and 3D sound.

Louisa Palmi’s sound piece combines audio technology and medical research, a 3D sound experience is created, inviting you to reflect on what happens to the body at the moment of death and afterward. The sound piece was exhibited at The Cell along with the brochure.

I created the images using lilies as a symbol for the human body and scanning them in different stages of blooming and decay to represent life. My intention was to visualize the process of the bodies decomposition after death.
