Ashes to Ashes

Brief: Art direction and brochure design. Louisa Palmi’s sound piece Ashes to Ashes, is an electro acoustic composition that explores the transition from life to death through sonification. By combining audio technology and medical research, a 3D sound experience is created, inviting you to reflect on what happens to the body at the moment of death and afterward. The sound piece was exhibited at The Cell along with the brochure.

I created the images using lilies as a symbol for the human body and scanning them in different stages of blooming and decay to represent life. My intention was to visualize the process of the bodies decomposition after death.
